Our mandate

The South African Benchrest Shooting Federation was formed to give the country's benchrest shooters a single governing body — one that sanctions matches, maintains a fair and consistent classification system, ratifies records, and represents South African benchrest interests internationally.

We work through our affiliated regional clubs rather than around them. Each club runs its own range, its own club matches, and its own membership, while the federation provides the common rulebook, the national ranking list, and the calendar that lets a shooter in the Western Cape compare a group to one fired in Gauteng on equal terms.

• Sanctioned match rules across Light Varmint, Heavy Varmint, Sporter, and Unlimited classes
• Equipment and safety standards for member ranges
• The national record book and ranking calculations
• Selection and support for regional and international representation
• Accreditation of range officers and match directors
